The company Sylvania Costa Rica made the first concert for the deaf in the country, based on vibration and light effects.

The musical arrangement was in charge of the band Do Not, who prepared a musical set that intensified the bass, to generate a perceptible sound record for those who have a low hearing and a series of vibrations that people with profound deafness can feel.

Ernesto Bolaños, a member of Do Not, explained that they played a live set with subwoofers distributed in the room to motivate a free approach to low frequencies. They also synchronized their lights and those of Sylvania with music, to create a multisensory experience.

People can be deaf from birth or lose their hearing due to different factors throughout their lives. There is a broad spectrum of deafness, from those who have residual hearing loss, to those with profound deafness.

A hearing person has the capacity to perceive 120 decibels. When this number decreases, the person is listed as deaf.

Our year-end activity is a tradition that our employees look forward to with excitement. Last year, we visited the Dormitorio para Habitantes of San José Street and this time we were with Anascor and HOPAS, which also gave us the opportunity to learn a bit about Lesco,”

said Tiago Pereira, general manager of Sylvania for Central America, the Caribbean, Mexico and Brazil.

The activity was held in partnership with HOPAS Costa Rica (Children of Deaf Parents), and it focused on the development of the deaf person and advise listeners who want to know more about this community.
