Volunteers collect garbage and plant trees in Limón

On Saturday, two groups of volunteers came together to give a hand to nature in the Caribbean. One of them picked up garbage and another planted hundreds of trees.

The personnel of Fuerza Pública joined the community, the Bandera Azul group at Cieneguita beach, the State University at a Distance (UNED), the University of Costa Rica (UCR), the church, the Chamber of Tourism, and Banco Popular to collect garbage from Cieneguita beach.

In addition, about 100 volunteers from the Coca Cola System (Coca Cola Company and its Coca Cola FEMSA bottler) planted 1,200 trees in 1.2 acres of EARTH University, located in Guácimo de Limón.

The trees were provided by a 21-year-old Ecuadorian student named Tamia Gualán.

This initiative is part of others through which the company Coca Cola and FEMSA aim to return to nature 100% of the water used for its production.
