Water shortage will continue in La Guácima

Residents from La Guácima de Alajuela will have to be patient because it could take up to 3 months to solve the water shortage problem.

Juan Carlos Vindas, Regional Director of Aqueducts and Sewers (AyA) in the Central West Region, explained that the problem would be the same in “rush hours”.

Last weekend, the problem was the regular one: due to high temperatures, houses tend to experience an increase in water consumption,

explained Vindas.

Rush hours are from 5:00 am to 7:00 am, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm; This situation is aggravated on weekends.

Due to last weekend situation, the amount of water in San Rafael tank was not enough.

That is why authorities are going to inject more liquid into the tank from a well near the area: a pipeline transport will be installed to San Rafael tank in order to reinforce it with at least 50 liters of water.

These works will take us at least 2 or 3 months, but we hope to solve the problem,

informed Vindas.

The shortage are likely to continue in the rush hours.
