Women entrepreneurs program has new president

The Program for the Development of Women Entrepreneurs of the Chamber of Commerce of Costa Rica has a new president. Ana Elena Castillo is a young businesswoman with new ideas and challenges for this business sector program.

Since 2010, the Program for the Development of Women Entrepreneurs provides training to women entrepreneurs who want to start some type of business activity or strengthen their businesses.

Program members also mentor micro-entrepreneurs who require specialized personal support in areas such as self-esteem, leadership, finance, marketing, digital communication, and legal issues.

The program also organizes the Congress of Women Entrepreneurs, which consists of a professional update space with the participation of national and international exhibitors.

The initiative of the 2016 Women’s Program was the foundation of the Balance Movement, with the objective of influencing and promoting changes in policies, laws and practices that promote the participation of organizations working for gender equality. This movement is made up of the main women’s leadership associations in Costa Rica.

Castillo is a founding partner of SLC Abogados and has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber.
