Workers who battered dog in Guanacaste were fired

The two officials who appear in a video showing how they attack a dog in Guanacaste were fired on Saturday.

Although initially it was believed they were employees of the National Council of Roads (Conavi), because they carried uniforms of this entity, the construction company H. Solís confirmed they were its collaborators.

As a result of the actions showed in the video, H, Solís proceeded with the immediate dismissal of the workers,”

said the company in a statement.

The construction company added that they filed a complaint with the Public Ministry, supported by the Animal Welfare Law.

The cruel acts of these workers were severely criticized in social networks. Even the cyclist Andrey Amador spoke on the matter alleging that people with this behavior should not exist.

The new law made changes to cruelty against animals, which is now punished with 3 months to 1 year in prison.
