The toucan lost most of its beak on January 2015, when a group of youngsters beat it with a stick.

The amputated beak was replaced by a prosthesis. According to ZooAve’s press office, the bird is adjusting well to the transplant.

Discovery Chanel’s documentary on Grecia’s case will be aired the same day the bird will arrive in its new home. Costa Ricans will be able to watch it on August, 3rd on the Animal Planet channel.
