Yellow alert is maintained throughout the country

The National Emergency Commission (CNE) maintains the yellow alert in the North Zone, the Caribbean, the North Pacific, the Central Valley and the cantons of Montes de Oro, Esparza and Puntarenas, due to the cold front that affects the country.

During the night of Sunday, it rained persistently in the Caribbean region and in the canton of Sarapiquí, thus increasing several river flows, according to the last report of the CNE.

In Talamanca, a shelter was set up to serve eight people, crew members of a ship that ran aground in Manzanillo.

In addition, the communities of Alto Quetzal and Grano de Oro de Turrialba have access problems, as well as Gavilán Canta and El Progreso de Talamanca.
