Yellow and green alert extended after heavy rains

The National Emergency Commission (CNE) extended the yellow and green alert in different areas of the country after the sustained rains that have been reported practically throughout the national territory. This was reported by Sigifredo Pérez, chief of operations of CNE.

According to Pérez, the extension of the yellow alert that had been established in the Guanacaste area and the Nicoya peninsula also reaches the North Zone of the country.

The green alert that was in force in the Central Valley, Central Pacific and South Pacific also extends to the Caribbean area of ​​the country.

The Municipal Emergency Committees report 117 events in 31 cantons where they have requested the attention of authorities, according to the CNE. In addition, two temporary accommodations were enabled in the Paraíso school in Santa Cruz, in Guanacaste, and another in the Tolita Community room for approximately 24 people.
