Zona Norte’s authorities: “people should close their stores at noon”

The Local Emergency Commission in Ciudad Quesada recommended the population closed its stores on November 24th, at noon, when it is expected that storm Otto hits Costa Rican lands.

Marco Vinicio Solís, president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of the northern zone, ruled out that is intention is to alarm or scare people. The measure intends to keep people  safe at home.

It also aims to avoid traffic and allow the free passage of emergency vehicles, if necessary.

The Chamber also asked its affiliates to take security measures to prevent looting and other problems in their establishments.
