¢611 million for scholarships and research projects

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Telecommunications (MICITT) is receiving applications for the implementation of financial grants to fund scholarships and research in science, technology and innovation.

For this purpose, the ministry will allocate ¢211 million to the Incentive Fund and ¢400 million to PROPYME Fund.

The Incentive Fund will assess projects involving professional qualification, internships at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) to Costa Rican researchers; internships in Cuba for Costa Rican biotechnology experts, technology-based innovation programs, young innovation programs and research; whereas PROPYME will study the possibilities of funding innovation projects and technological development; innovation and internationalization training for SMEs in the ICT sector.

Individuals or institutions interested in bidding for financial aid have to fill in a form. The requirements and deadlines are defined in the website www.micit.go.cr.
