126 people were treated during the pilgrimage

The Red Cross served 126 people until July 25th, as part of the operations carried out by the traditional pilgrimage to Cartago.

Of the total number of people assisted by the Red Cross, 99 were diagnosed at the main post located in the vicinity of the Basilica of the Angels, 22 in Ochomogo and five in Tres Ríos.

The institution also reported that the ages of most patients oscillated between 20 and 59 years old and that most of them were female.

More than two thousand volunteers will work in the operations until August 2nd. The Red Cross installed five checkpoints this year, in order to give better attention to people who require it.

The Red Cross recommends using appropriate footwear and clothing, staying hydrated, using sunscreen and wearing a cap and umbrella.
