4.7-degree quake shakes Guatuso de Alajuela

An 4.7-degree earthquake was reported at 5:01 p.m. this Thursday with an epicenter in the vicinity of Guatuso, in Alajuela.

The National Seismological Network (RSN) reported that the quake had its origin seven kilometers northeast of Cote de Guatuso. The Seismic Engineering Laboratory (LIS) of the University of Costa Rica (UCR) reported that the movement had a depth of 125.8 kilometers.

Followers of the social networks of the RSN confirmed having felt the tremor. The residents of communities in the Greater Metropolitan Area (GAM) said that the earthquake was perceived mildly.
