A Haitian migrant died in Mexico Hospital

An irregular, 38-year-old migrant died in Mexico Hospital due to cervical cancer’s complications, a disease that was in advanced stage.

The Office of Migration and Nationality reported that the woman died on November 10th. The victim was identified as Christana Saint Firme.

She was receiving the treatment and palliative care that she required.

So far, four undocumented migrants have died due to health problems in Costa Rica.

On May 15th, a Nepalese citizen, identified as Gaganithapa, died in Pérez Zeledón Hospital after suffering a gastrointestinal bleeding. On May 16th, Peterson Blanc Edubochi, a 23-yeat-old, Haitian citizen, died due to pulmonary complications. On September 21th, a Haitian named Jean Eddy died because of a digestive condition that was treated at La Cruz Clinic.

In the last 7 months, more than 15,000 irregular migrants entered the country. According to Migration, about 1,300 people remain under illegal conditions in Costa Rica.
