A 28-year-old man died after being shot at least 9 times while traveling through San Rafael Arriba sector, in Desamparados.
The victim was a man surnamed Torres Rivera. He worked as an Uber driver: he was traveling in his vehicle and he was only 500 meters away from home when he was intercepted by two men riding a motorcycle. The events occurred at around 11:00 pm
Judicial authorities reported that the two men shot the victim. “He was driving and lost control of the vehicle, which ended up crashing into a wall. He was helped by the neighbors but he was declared dead,” said Álvaro González, head of the Homicide Section of the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ).
The wounds were reported in the chest and arm. Due to the way he died, judicial officers describe the event as a possible settling of scores.
Torres had a record of aggravated theft, counterfeiting, and scams. He was even in prison from 2012 to 2015. 2 firearms were found in his house.
