The constant and recent eruptions of Turrialba volcano have passed the bill to nearby villages, where everything turns gray, sad, dark and covered in ashes.

This is shown in photographs taken by Eliecer Duarte, volcanologist from the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI).

These pictures were taken 700 meters east of the volcano, where the camera is located, buried by several days of ashfall. The other camera shows the coin, which means that there are more than 2 centimeters of ash accumulated across the sector,”

said Duarte.

The ash caused the camera signal to remain temporarily suspended, but it’ll be reset soon.
