Authorities ask not to make medicine donations

The Ministry of Health called on the population to not give medicines as a donation.

They warn about this because there are people who are asking for drugs, taking advantage of the difficult situation of the victims of the floods caused by storm Nate.

Karen Mayorga, Minister of Health, emphasized that the delivery of medicines for emergency care in the affected areas is done only through the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS). The hierarch clarified that in the country there is no shortage of medicines.

Therefore, the population was asked once again not to deliver any type of medication. They also asked not to self-medicate , because the drugs not only act according to their components, but also according to the particular characteristics of the person.

This habit can cause dangerous allergic reactions, renal and cardiovascular complications, skin problems, gastrointestinal diseases and in the worst cases, death.
