BCR appoints Eduardo Ramírez as acting general manager

The Board of Directors of the Bank of Costa Rica (BCR) appointed Eduardo Ramírez Castro as interim general manager and Jorge Alvarado Campos and Álvaro Vindas Garita as interim assistant managers of this institution.

The appointment is effective as of Monday and will continue as long as the precautionary measures imposed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office are maintained on the managers who held these positions and who are being now in custody due to the Chinese cement scandal.

Ramírez Castro is currently the Corporate Legal Manager of the Bank, a position he has held for more than 20 years, and has worked at the institution for 26 years. He is also a member of the Executive Committee.

Vindas, the assistant manager in charge of wholesale banking, has been in the institution for 31 years, while Alvarado, the assistant manager in charge of retail banking, has a trajectory of 36 years.

The rest of the managers are: Henry Gutiérrez in operations, and Renán Murillo in credits. They both have a career in the BCR and a banking career.
