Bomb alert in Saprissa Stadium cost the country almost ¢3 million

What perhaps was a joke, ended up costing many resources to the Costa Rican state and to anyone who pays taxes in the country.

The Ministry of Security explained that the operation due to an explosives alert in the stadium Ricardo Saprissa had a cost of ¢2,833,348.

This Sunday, the Opening Tournament match between Saprissa and Grecia was interrupted with 10 minutes to go. The organizers suspended the match, because they received information of an alleged bomb in the purple redoubt.

The Ministry of Security had to mobilize the Canine Unit, which represented an increase of ¢ 1,793,348 colones in the cost of the operation.

Authorities found no trace of explosive and a danger was ruled out.
