Border Police and Fuerza Pública confiscated smuggled liquor valued at more than ₡ 6 million

On Wednesday, the Border Police and Fuerza Pública confiscated three bootleg liquor loads in the southern region.

One of the loads, confiscated in San Gerardo de Limoncito in Coto Brus, was worth more than 6 million colones.

Officers held a checkpoint and intercepted a truck driven by a man named Rodríguez. In the trunk of the vehicle there were bottles of tequila, whiskey and rum, for a total of 2, 651 units.

The other load was confiscated in Guaycará de Golfito. A man named Steller was driving the car with 456 units of foreign beer.

Steller did not carry the documents to prove the payment of the taxes.

The third load was confiscated at kilometer 35. A driver named Ugalde was carrying 240 units of various types of alcohol.
