CCSS assigned ¢ 500 million for maternity services

The Costa Rican Department of Social Security has created a special fund of ¢ 500 million for improvements in maternity services.

According to medical manager, Dr. Maria Eugenia Bonilla Villalta, one of the projects could include the purchase of beds and tables that increase the comfort of the mother and child, before, during or after the delivery.

Maternity units interested in this benefit must prepare and submit a project, starting in June of this year.

Adjustments were already made in the infrastructure of maternity services in hospitals of Nicoya, Heredia, Cartago and Ciudad Neilly.
