Civil society groups supplied goods to victim of rape

Many individuals and organizations collected food and other baby care products for a young mother from Limón who was recently raped by a convict on a parole.

The attack happened one-week after the woman, had given birth to her third child.

The mother can no longer breastfeed her child because she’s on medication to prevent HIV infection, which is a standard treatment given to rape victims.

Several institutions and citizens’ groups organized to collect donations for the woman, after it emerged the woman lives in poverty conditions in Guácimo, Limón.
