Coast Guard intercepts boat with 756 kilos of cocaine

The Coast Guard confiscated 756 kilos of cocaine in was made in Punta Burica, near Panama. The drug was traveling in a boat with no flag and 3 foreign subjects on board.

The detainees were identified with the surnames Perea and Torres, both Colombian nationals, while the captain of the boat is an Ecuadorian citizen named Angulo.

The men carried a satellite phone, a portable radio and a buoy radio. The latter device is a satellite tracking system installed within a buoy, which allows drug traffickers to locate drug shipments at sea.

With this, the amount of cocaine seized in 2016 is 25 tons.
