Coffee Fair in Pérez Zeledón seems promising

If you like coffee, this information is for you. The first Regional Coffee Fair will be held in Pérez Zeledón from September 9th to 11th and promises many activities for all the coffee lovers in the family.

SMEs of the coffee sector will participate in the “BrunCafé”. In addition, there will be a barista’s exhibition, lectures on preparation, properties and benefits of this product, as well as folk dances, crafts, face painting and clowns for children.

According to Stephanny Freer, marketing manager of Plaza Monte General, the activity will take place on the premises of the place from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., on a weekend that also celebrates Children’s Day.

In addition, Freer said that this fair is held to support a project that helps to provide care for the children of coffee pickers.

The aim of this fair is to support the productive and commercial growth of the coffee sector in the region, and also encourage and publicize the project ‘Casas de Alegría’ in Coto Brus, which is key to harvest the grain, since these houses operate as day care centers for the children of coffee pickers, who move to the farms during the harvest season,”

explained Freer.

The woman also said the idea behind the fair is to encourage regional coffee consumption, valuing the effort and work of thousands of indigenous people of the area in coffee harvests.

This activity is supported by the Ministry of Economy, the Coffee Institute of Costa Rica, among other public institutions. Producers from Pérez Zeledón, Buenos Aires, and San Vito will also participate in the event.
