Correos de Costa Rica paid tribute to several prominent Costa Rican women

On Wednesday morning, Correos de Costa Rica paid tribute to several Costa Rican women who have excelled in various areas, both in the country and internationally.

The event took place at the Melico Salazar Theater.

NASA scientist Sandra Cauffman, world leader in climate change Christiana Figueres and soccer player Shirley Cruz now have their own stamps.

The tribute was made during the activity Nosotras Women Connecting, an event that highlighted women’s work in various fields.

I’m very honored with this tribute. I have tried to inspire many young women to achieve their dreams,

said Cauffman.

Both the Vice President of the Republic, Ana Helena Chacón, and First Lady Mercedes Peñas participated in the event.

Cruz was not present because she is in France, where she plays with Paris Saint Germain.

According to Correos, 60 thousand post stamps will be issued with the image of these three Costa Ricans, and will travel all over the world in the packages that are sent from Costa Rica.
