Do not get confused! December 26th and January 2nd are not holidays in Costa Rica

A lot of Costa Ricans got confused yesterday December 12th after news of the Panamanian media La Prensa became viral and caused many to celebrate that the next 26th of December and January 2nd would be holidays.

That decision has no impact on Costa Rica. It’s exclusive to the Government of Panama. However, in social networks like Facebook, dozens of people only read the headline and did not realize that the news belonged to another country.

Actually, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MTSS) reminded the population that holidays in Costa Rica are December 25th and January 1st which must be paid and cannot be transferred to be enjoyed on other days.
