Father convicted of killing his 2 babies sentenced to 75 years in prison

A tribunal in Pavas condemned Ronald Jacob Esquivel Rojas, age 27 years to 75 years in prison, after finding him guilty of two homicides charges.

A court found him guilty of murdering his son 15-day old son, in 2011, and his 4-month daughter in October 2014. They were children from different mothers.

On the trial, it was explained that the two infant victims were throw against a wall, which caused severe injuries all over their bodies and ultimately their deaths.

Witnesses told the judges that Esquivel was prone to domestic violence against his wife and had also attacked other children within his family circle.

Four ex-girlfriends described Esquivel as violent, possessive, and manipulative. During the trial, the convicted seemed delusional and tried to portray his ex girlfriends as jealous, without mentioning his two murders.

The mother of second toddler, Karol Cubillo Mora, was accused by the prosecution of taking part in aggression against her son, however, she was absolved by the judges.

The department of children social services (PANI for its acronym in Spanish) claims there had been a ‘excesive intervention’ on their behalf to protect further violence against the children. However, they blamed Cubillo of covering up attacks and rejecting all alternatives to escape from her aggressor.
