Frente Amplio celebrates its anniversary

The political party Frente Amplio celebrates the Communist Party of Costa Rica’s 85th anniversary. The celebration includes a special activity in the Hall of Past Presidents of the Legislature.

A tribute to leader Isaias Marchena, also known as “El Cabo”, who passed away 31 years ago, is one of the main events, as well as cultural performances by Rudy Bonilla (poetry) and Fran Montero (music), and speeches by Jesús Campos (union leader), Pablo Zúñiga (lawyer) and other leaders, who fought next to Isaias Marchena in the South Zone and for the CTCR.

The Communist Party of Costa Rica was founded on June 16, 1931, with Manuel Mora as its leader.
