Johnny Araya insists on a tramway project for the capital city

During his speech at the official ceremony of the 195th anniversary of Costa Rica Independence, Mayor Johnny Araya reiterated the need for the construction of an electric tramway in San José.

The main goal of this project is to link the east and the west of the city and to put an end to the daily traffic jams that affect thousands of citizens.

The unprecedented traffic collapse in the metropolitan area should force us to modernize the public transportation in order to improve the urban mobility,

stated the mayor.

Another aspect that Araya pointed out in his speech is that he wants new universities in San José.
