La Niña phenomenon might have less impact than expected

Although during the month of March it was announced that La Niña would impact the country during the second half of the year, it seems that it will not.

Juan Diego Naranjo, a meteorologist from the National Meteorological Institute (IMN), said that La Niña has been slower than they anticipated 6 month ago, and now the phenomenon is expected during the months of September and October.

The specialist explained that the rains of recent days are related to the rainy season specific conditions: warm mornings and rainy afternoons in the Central Valley and the Pacific coast.
