Last report (6 am): All alerts by Otto suspended in Central America

As Tropical Storm Otto recedes, the National Hurricane Center lifted all alerts for Costa Rica and Nicaragua.

However, Otto left a wake of death and destruction in the North Zone.

The cyclone is moving at 22 kilometers per hour and sustains winds up to 95 mph.

Faster winds to the west and southwest are expected. Otto will continue to move away from the coast of Central America in the coming hours,”

quoted the report issued at 6:00 am by the National Hurricane Center of the United States.

This morning the cyclone was located 220 kilometers west of Santa Elena de Guanacaste.

Rains may remain this morning, with moderate amounts in the North Zone and the North Pacific.
