Legislator accuses Conavi of abandoning road between Grecia and Poás

Legislator Michael Arce, from the National Liberation Party (PLN), denounced the total abandonment of Route 107 (which connects Grecia and Poás in Alajuela) by the National Highway Council (CONAVI).

Arce said the road is full of holes that have been covered with sugar cane and banana plants as “signaling” so drivers can avoid them.

Although the neighbors have asked for solutions, the institution has not responded.

We are tired of CONAVI not dealing with the problem holistically. On January 19th at 5 p.m. we will have an audience with the Council to assert our position and we will demand a comprehensive response from CONAVI,”

said the Liberationist.

Arce was concerned about accidents on the route because of its deterioration.

I have statistics that are scary. In the last four years, 320 accidents have occurred on Route 107. More than 351 people have been treated and nearly 300 were taken to hospitals and 4 people have died onsite,”

explained the legislator, who also demanded CONAVI to make a total reconstruction of the road and not just patching.
