Lightning bolt stroked down a tree and it fell on top of a car

On November 12th, in the Street Fallas de Desamparados, a lightning bolt struck a tree and it fell on a 4×4 vehicle. The event occurred 200 meters east from the College of Accountants.

The damage reported was only material. However, it is a good opportunity to make some recommendations to follow in the event of a thunderstorm, in order to avoid accidents:

-Do not take shelter under a tree.

-If you are in an open field do not run or lie down, squat and put the head between the knees.

-Close doors and windows of houses.

-Do not be in high areas, such as hills.

-Do not have contact with water.

-Get away from fences and metal gates.

-Inside the house, the safest place is above the bed.

-Do not use electric appliances or umbrellas.

-If you are in your car, know that it is a good shelter; so stay inside.
