Limón is going to be a departure port for a cruise line

For the first time in history, Puerto Limón will be a “home port” of a cruise line. According to Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT), this means that this port is going to be the starting point of the travels for this type of vessel.

The importance of the cruise season in the country is that it makes the tourism industry even more dynamic and raises the possibility of better infrastructure, construction of facilities and strengthening of services and operators  that will create the advantages for the tourism sector to contribute with the country’s economy, “

explained Alberto López, manager of the ICT.

“Monarch” cruise ship from Pullmantur Cruise Line, will make 28 departures from Puerto Limón. The travel lasts 8 days and visits different ports in the region.

According to information from JAPDEVA, 78 cruises are scheduled for the 2015-2016 season, 13 more than the previous season.
