Free line for confidential complaints in Limón

October 7, 2016 by Staff News Writer

On Thursday, the authorities set up the 800-LIMONFP (800-5466637) line for citizens to make complaints about crimes in the province of Limón.

According to the Press Office of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) the idea is that citizens can call for free to the confidential line to report on drug sales or murder suspects, among others.

On October 2nd, a shooting on Cieneguita beach killed 5 people, including 2 minors.

A few hours later, a new shooting took place in Limón, where 2 guys were injured near the cemetery.

The Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) is conducting investigations to find those responsible for destroying innocent lives, but acknowledged that the clues are scarce and sought cooperation from citizens, which is why they activated the line.
