Manuel Antonio National Park closed until further notice

The heavy rains that hit the Central Pacific caused the closure of Manuel Antonio National Park, until further notice.

As reported by the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC), they proceeded with the total evacuation of tourists and researchers, who were inside the Park, due to the weather conditions.

The rains intensified in that zone due to the low pressure system in the Caribbean Sea near the country and a very active Inter-tropical Convergence zone.

This National Park has natural canals and drainage that could represent a threat because of the extraordinary floods caused by the rains. The risk of landslides and falling trees is very high, which could endanger the physical integrity of anyone who remains on the site.
