ML withdrew the motions against animal welfare bill

On Monday, Movimiento Libertario (ML) decided to withdraw the four motions filed against the animal welfare bill. This was informed by the party in a press release.

However, ML is still against the project, so once it is approved in the first reading, they will send it for an inquiry to the Constitutional Court.

According to the document, ML members argue that the bill has “inconsistencies”, so in the first reading they will vote against it. Then, with the support of other parties, they will send the bill to the Constitutional Court hoping that it points out the changes that the bill requires so that there is a regulatory body that sanctions animal abuse without violating the Constitution, as explained by Otto Guevara, ML’s leader.
