Anita: another victim of animal abuse

July 11, 2016 by Staff News Writer

5-month Anita lived a great cruelty and it is a recent victim of animal abuse: she was Ill-fed, scalded with boiling water and burnt with cigar butts.

The unfortunate event was known on Sunday in Pérez Zeledón. According to Aprovida association, it is one of the cruelest cases in recent months. Its health is critical.

At 5:00 pm they asked us to intervene because the injured dog was lying right on the floor,

said Luis Enrique Marín from Aprovida.

The complaint was filed when Pérez Zeledón’s animal protection groups were collecting signatures to pass the law against animal abuse in response to Duke’s aggression.

We will do the tests, but we need help to determine the damages it has received. Among all the cases we’ve seen, this has been one of the most painful. It was extreme. They scalded it with boiling water and used cigar butts. It just breaks our hearts,

stated the activist.

The bill against animal abuse is still under discussion and people want it to come into force as soon as possible.
