Municipal Police will be reinforced as of this week in San José

From this weekend, 25 more officers of the Municipal Police of San José will tour the center of the capital as part of the operation for the end and beginning of the year.

On November 26th, the celebrations will start with the Entry of Boyeros to the City of San José. The activity will begin at 10:00 a.m. in Paseo Colón.

This and the number of people attending these events makes it necessary to reinforce police presence, explained Marcelo Solano, director of the Municipal Police.

At other times. the number of extra police could be 50 or 75, and during massive events such as the Festival of Light, the National Top or Carnival, the number of troops on the streets could reach 500.

The main problem for the police is the illegal sale of products, not only for the obstruction of the roads, but also for the crimes associated with them.

Currently, the main problem of coexistence in San José (…) is micro-trafficking of drugs, circulation of false coins and receipt of stolen items,”

said Solano.

The director took the opportunity to make a call for people to not neglecting their belongings, because many of the complaints received in these events are over theft.
