Not only traffic signs… store also sold car plates!

The Antiques Shop in Plaza Víquez that was raided on Tuesday not only offered a variety of traffic signals, but also car plates.

The agents of the Section of Traffic and Municipal Police seized 19 license plates; including one of a car reported stolen in 2013, plus a uniform from Administrative Police.

In total, the authorities found 18 traffic signs: 5 Give way signs, 3 Stop signs and 10 street and avenues signs. Some of the signs were even attached to the pole that holds them to the road.

The work of intelligence determined that apparently this place offered these items for parties or other similar activities and each signal was sold at about 65,000 colones or rented for 30% of the value of the item,”

said The Communication Department of the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ).

Vandalism and theft of traffic signals cost MOPT 100 million colones every year.
