OIJ official responsible for hit-and-run was sent on vacation

The head of the Liberia Office of the Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) who was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and for apparently running over a woman, will remain on vacation for the rest of this week.

On Tuesday it was announced that the First Judicial Circuit of San José left him free without precautionary measures after turning himself in last Sunday in the delegation of Santa Ana.

The official, named Solano, is linked to an alleged hit-and-run against a woman in the Uruca sector.

The case of Solano is already analyzed by the Court of Judicial Inspection, a unit that will define the sanctions of the official who tested positive for two alcohol tests.

The Director of OIJ, Wálter Espinoza, said that they investigate the fact and Solano will be treated like any other citizen.

The victim has been identified as a woman named Hernández who was assisted by the Red Cross of Leo XIII last Sunday. She lives in the streets and is recognized by the authorities in the area.

The woman has already left Mexico Hospital, but her family claims that the case will not go unpunished.
