OIJ: “We’ve had as many as 20 missing people reports during Nate Storm”

The Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) has reports of 15 people missing as a result of the heavy rainfall caused by Nate Tropical Storm.

Michael Soto, head of the Office of Plans and Operations (OPO) confirmed that reports fluctuate. For example, at one point they even had alerts for 20 missing people.

The police chief confirmed that at the moment six people have died as a consequence of the storm, with a seventh person, possibly deceased, to be confirmed.

Where are the cases reported?
3 in Tarrazú.
1 in Pérez Zeledón.
2 in Playa Cabuya.
8 to 10 in Playa Dominical.
1 in Guadelupe.

Soto said they expect to locate these people during the course of the day.

Tropical Storm Nate and its indirect influence in the country caused a national emergency with severe implications in the Pacific, Central Valley and Guanacaste.
