Panamanians must be vaccinated against influenza

Costa Rican Ministry of Health arranged with the Panama health authorities that people coming from that country must be vaccinated against influenza virus.

The southern nation has an influenza outbreak, which accounts for 42 deaths.

Even though Daniel Salas, Health Surveillance chief, stated that it is very difficult that an influenza outbreak takes place twice in a year, they prefer to increase Costa Ricans’ protection.

To ensure that foreigners are not infected or to prevent them to get sick, Costa Rica is requesting Panamanians for their vaccination card. In case they do not have the vaccine, they will be inoculated in Paso Canoas.
