Central Pacific Sector at risk of Zika outbreaks

Due to its climate conditions, Central Pacific Sector is at risk of becoming a host for Zika outbreaks.

Health Minister, Dr. Fernando Llorca said this area, which includes Chomes, Costa de Pájaros and Punta Uva, is a

highly delicate area.”

The health ministry is currently attacking an outbreak of Zika in Garabito, Jacó, due to the sudden increase in confirmed cases. Until May, 18th, there were 31 infected people in the area, whereas the entire country registered 44 cases.
