President Solís: “Don Luis Alberto was a committed man”

President Luis Guillermo Solís decided to spend a few minutes in the Chapel Jardines del recuerdo, for the visitation of former President of the Republic, Luis Alberto Monge.

Monge died last night because of cardiorespiratory arrest.

Don Luis Alberto taught us that service to Costa Rica is the most important thing, he was a man committed to his country. He gave the best of his talent and effort to Costa Rica,”

said the President upon his arrival at the place, where he spent a few minutes and then left.

For Solís, the simplicity of the former president’s personality contrasted with the complexity of his thoughts and that led him to create public policies for the country.

In difficult times, with many external threats, Luis Alberto Monge took a brave decision to leave Costa Rica out of the Central American conflict,”

recalled Solís.

Tomorrow, the president will attend the funeral of State for the man who ruled in Costa Rica between 1982 and 1986.
