After a meeting in Costa Rica, The Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela (PSUV) declared that progressive movements in Costa Rica are motivated by the works of great leaders like Hugo Chávez, Fidel Castro and Nicolás Maduro.
In an official report published on Tuesday, the party informed that Venezuelan legislator Nora Delgado held a meeting with Venezuelan ambassador to Costa Rica, Jesús Fuenmayor Javier Arias.
Delgado participated in the V Meeting of Afro-Descendants in America and the Caribbean, which is taking place in Costa Rica and will end on August 31st.
Spokesmen for the Committee of Solidarity with Venezuela and the Bolivarian Circles declared to be Chavists and expressed their love for our country and the Bolivarian Revolution,
stated Delgado.
The meeting of Afro-descendants was declared of public interest by the Executive.
Among the objectives of the meeting there is the creation of a political agenda by 2025, known as ‘Recognition, Justice and Development’.
These regional events are convened by the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica and Afro-descendants’ Affairs Committee.
Issues such as the challenges of political participation of Afro-descent women, local development for the population, political empowerment, legislative progress, Human Rights and presentation of public policies and actions that favor Afro-descendants will be some of the main issues which encompass the encounter,
said Epsy Campbell, legislator of PAC.
In early July, one of the key pieces of Chavism, Tarek El Aissami, claimed that Costa Rica “is a hostile country.”
These remarks were said when Kimberly Clark in Venezuela ceased operations. According to Aissami, the company moved to Costa Rica after disagreements with the government.
