Psychiatric Hospital performs damage count after flood

After the flood that affected 70% of the National Psychiatric Hospital last Friday, Edwin Acuña, administrative director of the medical center, explained that this morning they returned to normal activities.

These problems are recurrent, they occur every year, according to Acuña, due to a ditch that is overflowing. The incident on Friday resulted in the relocation of 13 New Horizon patients, the teen population.

The main drawbacks that generated the flood were with the hospital clothes that got wet and with the electrical system that was out of service.

At the moment the medical center counts the total damages.

The Administrative Director commented that the Municipality of San José (MSJ) has taken some palliative measures to avoid the situation, which are based on dredging the ravine.

The Psychiatric Hospital has 655 beds and at the moment, it has about 500 people hospitalized.
