On Monday afternoon, a sloth literally stopped traffic in Barú de Dominical, in the South Zone of the country.

The animal was recorded by the Costa Rican photographer Juan Pablo López, who told that in order to avoid hitting the mammal, they decided to close both directions of the road, so that it could cross.

López said the animal took about 5 minutes to cross the road.

It was today at 1:30 p.m. When I did not let anyone pass, they all got off their vehicles to see why. Only one person was annoyed, but the others were sympathetic,”

explained López.

The previous week another sloth melted everyone’s heart, after being captured in a photograph taken at the University of Costa Rica in San Pedro.
