Man arrested for having a baby sloth in his trunk

On July 8th, a baby sloth was found in a box in the trunk of a vehicle.

Thanks to a Security Force checkpoint located in Zurquí tunnel, officials were able to find the animal, that was later taken to animal rescue center Zooave in La Garita de Alajuela.

The driver, a man named Chávez, was arrested and presented on Heredia district attorney´s office for the Wildlife Act alleged infringement.
