Social Security: all regional hospitals to offer CT scan

The Costa Rican Department of Social Security (CCSS) approved the purchase of two CT scan machines for the hospitals Erique Baltodano in Liberia and San Rafael in Aljauela. The investment amounted to $ 1.3 million.

The acquisition of these equipments is part of a plan for the expansion and replacement of older machines, explained the executive director of Social Security, Maria del Rocio Saenz.

With this purchase, CCSS completes provision of CT scans in all regional hospitals. In past January, it installed new equipment at hospitals of Limón, San Carlos and Cartago.

Regarding the replacement of CT scans out of service in the hospitals Calderon Guardia, San Juan de Dios, and Mexico, Saenz expects these replacements would be done from two to three weeks.
