Steam plume at Turrialba volcano

Yesterday morning Turrialba volcano erupted again and it now has a plume of gases and steam.

This was announced by Eliecer Duarte, expert from the Costa Rican Volcanological and Seismological Institute (OVSICORI), who added that the eruption cannot be measured due to weather conditions.

For several days the volcano did not show significant activity, but on Tuesday, in the early morning, the eruption column reached 500 meters.

There are small quakes that are related to the volcanic activity, but they are not related to the emission of ashes or other materials,

informed Duarte.
